Laredo Public Library offers amnesty for all overdue items
WHO: Laredo Public Library, Bruni Plaza Branch & Santo Niño Branch
WHAT: Amnesty for any overdue items returned
WHEN & April 1, 2005 April 30, 2005
WHERE: Main Library and 2 branch libraries
WHY: People sometimes forget to return a book, said Janice Weber, Laredo Public Library Director. They may have not finished reading it or maybe they misplaced it, and by the time they realize it, it is way overdue. So, instead of coming in, they just keep it. Unfortunately, this has a devastating effect on the Librarys permanent collection.
Thats why we want to invite all citizens to return any overdue book, CD, movie, or anything else that was checked out of the library, without facing any penalties, late fees or, even, disapproving looks, for having something out so long. We want to keep our customers happy with the Laredo Public Library, she concluded.
The Amnesty Month is only for materials that are returned to the Main Library and its two branch libraries. However, lost items or previous overdue charges will not be included.
