Villarreal Named Education Service Center Executive Director

The Education Service Center, Region 2 (ESC-2) Board of Directors recently named Dr. Linda Pompa Villarreal as the new ESC-2 Executive Director. Villarreal was selected to replace former Executive Director Dr. Ernest Zamora who left the ESC-2 to serve as Associate Commissioner for Support Services for the Texas Education Agency. Villarreal, a native of Corpus Christi and a graduate of Roy Miller High School, has served the education community for the past 25years in the capacity of classroom teacher, school principal, assistant superintendent, superintendent, and most recently as the ESC-2 Deputy Director for Instructional Services. VillarrealÂ’s charge as ESC-2 Executive Director will be to lead an organization of over 90 education professionals in providing efficient, effective technical assistance and staff development services to school personnel in 42 school districts and 7 charter schools in the Coastal Bend.
